Washington State has its first Poet Laureate

Washington Gov. Gregoire just named Samuel Green as the state's first Poet Laureate. I thought I recognized his name, and ron_drummond has confirmed that he's the one who did the beautiful bookmaking on some of the limited editions for Incunabula. Ron says Green is a terrific poet too. I'm just glad we finally have a Poet Laureate, so I can point and say, "Look, that's our Poet Laureate. I haven't actually read any of his/her work, if the mumbled truth be known. Ah hell, who reads poetry anymore?" (Well, if they made Heather McHugh the next one, I could say I've read some of her work.)
