Had an editorial meeting Saturday afternoon on the deck at Bacteria Gulch. Outdoor editorial meetings are the best, at least when the weather is as pleasant as it was this weekend. On the other hand, editorial meetings are politics by another name, and sometimes the negotiations get intense. Intensity is a good sign that the creative energy is still flowing, but it can be a jolt. Release, let go, and go with the flow. Too bad the thing I've written for this ish is so, so ... not quite right, but good thing there is plenty else to please.
Yesterday, I took a mower to the jungle and recreated a lawn. The neighbors took Denys and me to the Blue C Sushi for conveyor belt sushi. The four-year-old sank her tempura green bean in the water glass and declared it pretty. Afterwards we strolled around Fremont gawking at the ongoing revisions to curb and street and traffic flow. The world is in constant transformation. It's a wonder, and I'm trying to find a way to go with the flow. Because the play's the thing, right?
