It's time for the third annual Roth family golf tournament at the Crooked River Ranch golf course. I'll be flying down to Central Oregon this evening to hang out with the non-golfing portion of the family and to help with food prep and chaos abatement. I'm sure I'll hear more about my Uncle Paul's coffin from the cousins who built it. We won't talk politics or religion, and we'll have a grand old time piled on top of each other in my parents' house. Oh, and Roth is my mother's maiden name, so it's that side of the family -- basically her siblings and their kids and grandkids.

Last night a number of us talked politics, but I don't remember any religion, at The Pike Pub and Brewery. [livejournal.com profile] daveon looked haggard from the beatings he's been taking from a large software developer in Redmond. Less haggard were [livejournal.com profile] jerrykaufman, [livejournal.com profile] svtompkins (who had interesting TAFF gossip that I can't share yet), Cliff & Marilyn, [livejournal.com profile] akirlu and [livejournal.com profile] libertango. This is the second time I've been to this brewpub, and they always have stuff on tap that they don't bottle. Unfortunately, they were out of the Trippel, so I settled for something with Ruby in the title. Good beer, good conversation, and an utterly gorgeous sunset over the Olympics as I walked up the stairs to the market.
