Shelter from the storm

It was good to see that many of my friends (and Friends) regained power yesterday. carl came to visit in the evening, and his household in Renton was still without power at that point. We exchanged storm stories and music (I gave him the mp3s of the Kleptones' 24 Hours) and settled in for a session of good beer (Delirium Noel (aber mit umlaut), Baron's Liberator Doppelbock, Anderson Valley Brother David's Double) and episodes of anime (I missed the name of the series) & Lexx and the beginning of King Vidor's deliriously erotic filming of The Fountainhead. (All that thrusting architecture!) We also ordered a Pear Primo pizza from Pagliacci's, which is one of their great seasonal pies -- pears, Gorgonzola, mozzarella and fontina cheeses, mushrooms, red onion and walnuts. Yum! carl caught the 11:40 bus heading Renton-ward. Hope he found the lights on when he got home.
