WOTD: Bosniak
Oct. 3rd, 2008 12:46 pmDenys and I apparently weren't the only ones who raised our eyebrows last night during the VP debate when Biden used the word "Bosniak". Turns out it is the correct name for Bosnian Muslims. Score one for Joe.
Still, the word kept tugging at my backbrain. Somebody's name, right? Couldn't quite pin it down, but it finally came clear to me today. I knew that Biden was supposed to be an expert on foreign policy, but who would have expected a reference to the TransAtlantic Fan Fund?! German fan Mario Bosnyak won in 1971, much to Peter Weston's ongoing consternation. Further evidence that Obama-Biden want a rapprochement with Europe?
