Well, I slept like a log last night despite getting a call, just as I was drifting off, from a nervous committee member who wondered if we had a plan for badges. We do, in fact, and the badges will even have a lovely walrus ornament designed by carl juarez.

This morning I'm printing various zines (Steve Green's TAFF collection, the Corflu Zed progress reports) to take to the convention. I need to make a follow-up fez run around noon, and then I'm picking up asfi and Catherine at the airport. At that point I think the convention will have officially begun for me. Depending on how things go and who else shows up, I may try to organize an expedition to the Elysian this evening.

I thought of calling you on your CELL PHONE earlier, but resisted the temptation. You'll either fall madly in love with your phone and become one of those people whose phone is constantly ringing, OR we'll have a ritual tromping of the phone at the Dead Dog party.

I think the latter would be fun, actually.

Well, we'll see. I certainly don't want to be somebody whose phone is constantly ringing, but I've thought for a long time it would be good to have a cellphone in case of emergencies and for connecting with people when you're running a little late or whatever.
