Ida Lupino still never seems to get quite the recognition she deserved (the New York critics gave her their award for The Hard Way but Oscar always snubbed her), even if her later work as a director gets more attention these days.
Walsh was another great one. He started as an actor with Griffith, of course, and to the end of their days he and Gloria Swanson would always greet each other on the phone with: "SADIE!" "HANDSOME!"
