Yeah, that's a great film too, and this was the one he made next. The Ice Storm is one of the few "suburban angst" stories that I actually like. I thought it was far better than American Beauty, for example. The scene where Kevin Klein breaks down at the end is just devastating -- speaking of matters of the heart that can't be articulated.
