I have to admit to a tendency to circle the wagons, because we want to do everything we can to make things better for you - but know in practice there's very little we can do.
But reading what you've both been going through in your different ways makes it easier not to blame anyone individually (even if we blame Canada). The open and self-aware way you told your part of the story helped a lot with that; surely no one would dare let you down after reading this by behaving in a lesser way!
And I'm glad about all the experiences and memories and reflections you got from this that were good.
