Sharee has finally sent me some of the photos from our trip. This is one I took of her on our drive along the south shore on Wednesday. She got those cool leopard print jeans in Edmonton. The t-shirt says, "She Who Must Be Obeyed". Yes, ma'am! Much obliged.

This one's from French Beach, which is also from the drive along the south shore. That's me doing my Lenin impersonation.

This is one of Sharee with John D. at Big Bad John's in Victoria. Every inch of wall and ceiling in the tavern is covered with Stuff, including quite a collection of bras.

Here's one of Sharee and John from probably somewhere around 1983, which was the last time I'd hung out with the two of them. Probably taken in Vancouver, but I don't know for sure. That looks like Sharee's hair style just before she got her first mohawk in 1984.

This is me behind bars at Big Bad John's. Guilty, guilty, guilty! Some of you will notice that the beard is gone. Sharee said I look cuter this way, so I guess that trick worked.

I'd forgotten that we got this shot of the two of us sitting with Andrew, who was the fellow that Sharee met on a smoke break outside Big Bad John's. This was taken on a timer. A bit dark, but it has obvious sentimental value.

In the shadow of the world: the lunar eclipse viewed from Fort Street in Victoria.

Great pics! Sharee looks as lovely as ever, "radiant" is a good word for her! You look cute too, especially behind bars. But that honkin' mustache! Yeow! You should seriously put down that mustache before it takes over!

It really is a horrible mustache, isn't it? Maybe I'll try trimming it down a bit.

Actually, having revisited the mustache in the mirror, I conclude that it only looks truly horrible in that photo. It's not that bad in real life.

Whew! Glad to know that I haven't secretly been looking horrible these past couple of months.

Okay, now that I look at it again, it's not that bad. It's just when I first clicked to enlarge that photo, it seemed enormous and kinda scary. I'm all better now though. Really.

Whiffin Spit? those brits! have such an, er, interesting sense of naming.

Number Six, for a thousand, alec.

Same old moon. It looked just like that in my back yard too, except we had icicles hanging off the oak branches around.

Yes, I confess that we visited Whiffin Spit just because of the name, that's how shallow we are. I imagined it must have been discovered by somebody named Charles Whiffin or Roger Whiffin or something like that. Lord Whiffin, perhaps.

The icicles around the eclipse must have been a lovely effect.

Ahhh, now i can admit to this conversation a few months after i started in residency. You'd walked past on your way to lunch and i said to David, "Is it just me, or does Randy look like Stalin in that hat?" "It's just you. He looks like Lenin."

It's a long-running joke amongst my fannish friends, and ever since I got that longcoat this winter, Todd has taken to hailing me as "comrade" whenever he runs into me in Red Square.
