Saw Iron Man with [livejournal.com profile] holyoutlaw last night. Pretty good blow-shit-up movie.

I love the explosions in Iron Man. I think this weekend I'll go see The Happening.

That reminds me, I wanted to tell you two more interesting points about The Fall:

1. It is all filmed on location all over the world
2. All the stunts are "real"

So it's production itself harkens to a pre-digitalized/pre-special effects cinema (or something like that).

I loved the way they treated the whole world as a set. There's at least one sequence that seems to travel around the globe in 60 seconds. Very cool, very magical. Movies always seem to mess with geography anyway.

Hadn't noticed that about the stunts, but it makes sense now that you mention it. The sequence at the end of stunts from old silent movies is just jaw-dropping. Those people were crazy! And the amazing stuff they were able to accomplish that way! And of course the title of the movie seems to be the name of a stunt, although of course also a biblical allusion.

[livejournal.com profile] holyoutlaw is interested in seeing the movie, so I'm probably going to see it again with him next week.
