Saturday was the day of many errands. Dropped a lamp off at a repair shop, got rid of an old PC, picked up leftover Vanguard supplies from Stu and Andi. Then I went to the Big Time and did some copy-editing for Chunga and read the first three chapters of Leigh Brackett's The Long Tomorrow.

Sunday was a Chunga meeting at Andy's house. We have all the material for another solid issue, and now it's time to start shaping it. After that was the fannish pubmeet, where there was much talk of the Hugos.

Above all, however, this weekend there was Desert Fury. A while back I asked if anybody from Australia could help me acquire the Australian DVD that had just come out. [livejournal.com profile] smofbabe kindly ordered it in Melbourne and brought it to the Worldcon in Denver, where she handed it to [livejournal.com profile] voidampersand, who used the envelope I'd sent him to mail it to me on Thursday. I hadn't expected him to mail it until after the convention! But there it was in the mail on Saturday, and I've already watched it twice. I'll write more about the movie itself another day -- it's the source of my subject line -- but for now I just want to salute [livejournal.com profile] smofbabe and [livejournal.com profile] voidampersand. I love the fannish network! It brings me beer from the UK and DVDs from Australia, and that's okay by me.
