The aftermath of Hurricane Felix
Oct. 3rd, 2007 08:31 amIt occurs to me that not everybody on my Friends list reads the
theinferior4 community, so not everyone will have had a chance to see
lucius_t's posts about his trip to the Miskito Coast of Nicaragua in the aftermath of Hurricane Felix. In the latest post, he describes the devastation they found there and also gives a fascinating portrait of the guy who led their group. It reminds me of a conversation I had at the Pacific Inn last Sunday with a woman who told me about a friend who went into Rwanda right after the genocide to try to document the atrocities. And here I just wanted to watch the damned football game and eat lunch! Anyway, Lucius also gives some links to a couple of organizations that are providing aid to the people in the area ravaged by Felix. They could use some donations.
