Whether or not it's the weather
Oct. 4th, 2007 08:27 amYesterday was one of those days when I had five different problems pulling my brain in five different directions all morning. By noon, I was physically exhausted from the mental exertion. One of the great things about my job is that I have a wide variety of things to do, which keeps things interesting, but if it becomes a wide variety of urgent problems, the brain quickly becomes a taffy pull. At nine o'clock last night I climbed into bed to read, stared into space for about ten minutes fuguing on the day, the problems (some still unsolved), the people -- and fell asleep.
But maybe some of it is the onset of autumn as well. I remember last year around this time feeling as though I were submerged in molasses, overcome by lethargy. The sky has lowered, and the sunlight is draining away, turning grey. Sleepy weather ...
