Corflu Zed is fast approaching. In mid-March we're hoping to catch you kicking back, sipping blog in the consuite, enjoying the towering views of Seattle and the convivial arguments about who stapled Courtney's boat. But first, you just may need some place to lay your head after the nightly carouse, and the deadline for reserving your room at the Deca is approaching faster still. The cut-off date for reservations is Thursday, February 19, 2009. To make your reservation, please call Reservations at 206-658-2391 (M-F 9-5 Pacific Daylight Time only) or reserve online at www.hoteldeca.com (Group/Event ID: 40783). For additional online reservation instructions, check http://www.corflu.org/hoteltravel.html. Or, if you have any questions or problems regarding your room, please contact Hotel Liaison Ulrika O'Brien at hotelzed@corflu.org.

And for those who have not yet booked their flight to Seattle, we note that lots of airlines are now locked in death battles for who can get you here the cheapest. If you're traveling from within the US, www.kayak.com provides a good resource for comparing ticket prices for your flight. We'll keep the duplicator warmed up for you.

Remember - reserve your room by February 19!

While I intend to purchase a supporting membership in the next few weeks I'm afraid that will be all. I really don't earn enough these days for overseas trips to be a serious option. Especially as saving for such a trip would mean no money for adding to my fanzine collection and that is something not to be contemplated.

Ah, but just think of all the choice fanzines that will be available at the Corflu auction!

Even if the Corflu auction included many choice fanzines the bottom line is I would need to spend thousands of dollars in order to be at it. Thousands of dollars that could be much better used to buy fanzines. I've already been to two Corflus which has convinced me that while I'd be happy to attend another if it was in easy reach there is nothing about Corflu which makes it worth crossing an ocean for.

Well, you've certainly got me there. Which two did you go to?
