Well, it's just a week until the opening salvo of Corflu Zed, although out-of-towners start arriving next Tuesday, so early festivities will get going around then. Fanzines are going to press around the world even as we speak. The Crythology went to the printers yesterday, and it's enormous -- over 90 pages. All hail Mark Manning, who put an incredible amount of editorial, clerical, and design work into it. Thanks also to [livejournal.com profile] akirlu, who retraced the cover (from the original direct-to-stencil artwork by Donald Franson), and it's a beaut. She also instigated another use for the artwork which will be another item in the membership packet, thanks to Pat Virzi. On top of all that and the program book that [livejournal.com profile] holyoutlaw is currently laying out, there's a rumor that [livejournal.com profile] voidampersand will be doing a daily fanzine at the convention. I'm sure he'll be looking for material, so let's all help out. (Of course [livejournal.com profile] johnnyeponymous will probably publish a fanzine in the morning and another in the evening!)

Supporting members will receive all of these wonderful publications after the convention.

We're almost there, gang. I can hardly wait!

All hail Corflu Zed!

It looks fabulous. Enjoy. Savor.

I'll participate as I can on the Virtual Corflu, and look forward to receiving my membership package full of chunky fanzine goodness, thanks to my generous, thoughtful anonymous benefactor.

Wonderful convention, Corflu. Thank you for pulling together what may well be the strongest team in Corflu history and making this one not just happen, but be a year-long delight in the process. (Your PRs rank well among the classics.)

Thanks for all your support, Geri. The certificate you sent me early on was a big boost, and I have it pinned up by my desk at home. Always nice to look up and see your smiling face. In fact, the same smiling face as in your user icon.

Oh, you flattering performer of meritorious fanac, you.

I'm glad the certificate and its accompanying pebble were so well received.

I'll have my peppble out and on display next weekend as well, whilst enjoying the Virtual Con Suite. Not that I believe in sympathetic magic or anything, but it can't hurt.

In other news, I appear to be completely unable to spell 'pebble.' Which is worrying.

Meanwhile, the pre-Corflu issue of Virtual Tucker Hotel, with all the details of this year's Virtual Con Suite is now online at http://efanzines.com/VTH/VTH22.pdf

Thanks, P. I especially appreciate the reprint of the concise virtual panel discussion from Corflu Silver. Really good stuff in that. Much better than the meatspace panel that was going on at the same time. (And I say that as a participant who contributed exactly nothing to the discussion.)

I sure hope the virtual stuff goes as well this year.

Last year's Virtual Con Suite was more in the nature of a "flashmob" gathering, which was, I guess, part of the appeal. This year's has turned out to be much more organised so far, so may be a somewhat different experience, but hopefully even better.

Thanks to everyone on the Corflu team involved in organising this.

Once again I shall virtually attend. Just remember to speak loudly, people. In return, I shall type loudly for the benefit of all attendees.

Well, you'll have some good company at the virtual Corflu. And you'll be able to attend in your pajamas!

Does this mean the rest of us can't attend in our pyjamas (the British equivalent)?

Hm. You've got me there. I think the British equivalent should be just fine.

Oh, I'd thought you were going to be there in person this year! Poot.
