It's been a good 24 hours!

Yes, the 24 hours prior to that when our office discovered that the dean's list letters were sent out with the wrong phone number for our office ... not so good. On balance it all works out. :)

Oh, go ahead -- be glib. :D I'm actually coming to be grateful for the error because it means a lot of calls have been sent directly in to the boss and now he has a GREAT perspective on exactly what sorts of calls we get and what outcomes the families are looking for. It's turned out to be a good opportunity for us to review our procedures and find ways of making it more efficient.

But if it happens again... Well, we've voted and have decided that Andrew should come over here and answer our phones for a day. ;)

Well, my glib comment was that you should be happy you weren't getting the calls, but if they went to your boss instead ... well, it's nice that it was educational, I guess.

Actually, i WAS getting the calls -- they were all coming to our direct phone number and not our dean's list line. But i did then transfer most of them into the boss. Bwahaha! I firmly believe the generals should be regularly reminded what it's like for the troops here on the front lines. In that respect let us just say that this office is *clearly* not run by Virjean, as there are way too many precious professional staffers who think that answering the phone is beneath them.
