Weekend prospects & voting deadlines

This weekend Potlatch 19 is at the Deca. I'll be there tonight and tomorrow night, for sure, and maybe other times too. Tomorrow I'm also joining daveon and others for a Rat City Rollergirls match at Key Arena. (Maybe it wasn't so bad to lose the Sonics after all.)

My cold has died down to a dull roar, but it's still there. Feh.

Also, this LiveJournal supports John Hertz for DUFF. Don't forget to vote. The deadline is 31 March. Send John to Australia. He'll write a wonderful trip report.

The deadline to vote in the FAAn Awards is even sooner: 13 March. You don't have to be a member of Corflu to vote, but see the Corflu page for a PDF of the ballot, which includes instructions on how to vote via e-mail. If you read fanzines, please vote.

I just saw on the Slog that Key Arena isn't really hurting -- between the concerts, Rat City Rollergirls, The Storm, and Seattle U basketball, they're getting full.

That's great news. It's nice that Seattle was able to tell the NBA to go fuck itself and still come out okay financially.

I was pretty shocked at the turnout for the last Rat City Bout, it was about half full which is pretty amazing for what could only be described as a "fringe" "sport".
