My mind is skittering around like my subject-line today. Meanwhile, it's a perfect day out there, warm and calm, and I'd love to just go for a long urban hike and let the sun melt my foolish cares away. Instead I'll be in meetings all morning. Such is working life. I guess the meetings will focus my grasshopper mind in another way.

Your subject-line reminds me, fondly, of Ted Johnstone's comment on CoAs -- "Fans hop around like fleas on a hot girdle" (and I'm pretty sure that last word wasn't a typo).

Yup. Actually, it was becoming archaic even then, c. 40 years ago. OTOH, "corset" seems to be having something of a come-back, though mostly as an item of ornamental external attire -- which strikes me as being a bit incongruous.

Good point. Will the girdle make a comeback as a piece of fetish-wear? Maybe it already has, and I just haven't noticed.

I believe the girdle always has been an item of fetish-wear but only amongst a relatively small number of fetish-wear fanciers. besides which there is just now way to make a girdle look stylish, unlike the corset.
