I don't know what era this quote is from, but it's true that if I were to rewrite it, I'd at least drop the "growing". "Tendency" seems a little weak too. Maybe just, "The inability to remember where in cyberspace you saw a particular bit of information."

It's a very cool word, although it undoubtedly combines Latin and Greek in a nonsensical fashion.
