Bringing Up Baby (1938)

Amazingly enough, I hadn't seen this movie before. It's a romantic comedy, so stalking behavior is considered cute. Something Almodovar has drawn on in his screwball soap operas. And I had no idea that this was an RKO picture, with sets by Van Nest Polglase, who also did production design for the Astaire-Rogers musicals and Citizen Kane.

I've added It Happened One Night to my Netflix queue. Holiday is another one I haven't seen, along with The Philadelphia Story, both directed by George Cukor. On the other hand, I'm doing pretty well on Preston Sturges movies. I've added Hawks' His Girl Friday to my queue too. Netflix is so darned convenient that way.

The Philadelphia Story is my favorite movie of all time. I envy you the opportunity to see it, and It Happened One Night, for the first time.

Ok, but you have seen The Women or? Otherwise it should be number one in your queue, in my very firm opinion. Actually, it's not at all unreasonable to watch it every month...

No, I haven't, so I just added it to my queue too. My question in return is whether you've ever seen Stage Door. That one's a lot of fun too, but then I love Ginger Rogers. (Hm. Hadn't noticed that it was based on an Edna Ferber play. Hollywood sure liked Ferber.)

Yes, I think I have seen Stage Door, but it was many years ago. I would love to see it again. I just found out today that my cable company will drop TCM, and we don't have have anything like Netflix.
