Well, I pushed the reset button at the end of last week, but I'm not sure how well it worked. Some really great stuff happened over the weekend -- including an old friend whom I haven't seen in fifteen years unexpectedly sending an e-mail thanking me for my friendship in the '80s -- but it still feels like I've got way too many balls in the air at the moment. Yet that thanks for old friendship really made my week. Hell, it made my month. What a world! The raspberries are starting to ripen. When will I have time to pick them? My dance card for the week is already filling up.

Hey, that's wonderful! A reset button would be nice, or maybe what I mean is, a reset button that's more under our control. "Somebody's hitting the reset button of my life, and it ain't me!"

I've got way too many balls in the air, too. Only juggle!

My juggling is jagged.

Sledgehammer to the head. Changes your perspective entirely.

Metaphorical sledgehammer, I hope.

Me, I did a creativity reboot this last week. This involved spending four days alone in the woods -- although I wasn't entirely alone, as a friend visited for one day. But it worked!

This is something I've done before when I felt 'stuck' on the creative front. The combination of nature, campfires instead of TV, and isolation does something to me that I cannot easily define but do see real results from.

Yeah, that sounded like a great time. Actually, one of the things I did was go for a long walk, from Fremont to downtown along Lake Union, visiting old haunts in the Market and on the waterfront, communing with the city, which always gets my juices flowing. Then I walked all the way back too, so it was a good physical workout as well, but there's something about visiting the Market at this point that feels like I'm revisiting the deepest strata of my self. (Yes, that means I went to Golden Age Collectibles, and I came out bearing Moebius and the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers.)

Yeah, I know, what about the chocolate-covered cherries? Forgot about those.

Well, you could always try removing the second E from reset.
