'I met J.G. Ballard around the time David Cronenberg’s film of CRASH was released at a book signing in New York City. Ballard said he loved the film. Then he talked about the author’s preface in the French edition of CRASH, stating that writing the book was a highly moral and healing process for him. He said he received a letter from Jean Baudrillard who wrote that, on the contrary, CRASH was "a psychopathic act of anger and violence against humanity.” Then Ballard winked at me and said, “And you know, he was right.”'

I am amazed at the paucity of feminists saying that CRASH represents male sexuality.

And now I've got "Warm Leatherette" going through my head (the Grace Jones version).

I love Ballard. My favorite story of his is "The Voices of Time."
