Thanks to everyone who came to Brouwer's to celebrate with me on the day (or at least date) of my birth. Lessee (puts on gossip columnist hat), there was Denys,

svtompkins, John (the Berry one),

kate_schaefer, Glenn,

akirlu, and

libertango. That's twelve, and I made thirteen. Oops. Well, despite my bad luck, I had a delightful time. There was laughter ("Why is a clitoris like a writing desk?") and tears ("Okay, I'll have the moo.") Art hadn't realized he was only three days older than me, and he suggested that next year we should throw a joint party. But that'll be his 90th, and I think that deserves its own party.

Anyway, got lots of good birthday wishes from afar too, and this morning I found one from Robyn that she'd sent while we were all yucking it up at Brouwers. Sweet!
