I thought so when I saw the pic but had to go to IMDB to confirm that's Lucille Ball. I don't think I've ever watched any of her dramatic roles!

She had an interesting career in the movies, starting out in more or less eye-candy roles in the '30s and then by the late '40s showing up in some film noir roles. I'll be writing about this particular film -- a male melodrama -- for my film blog, but it's a strange role for her, where she plays the woman the hero should be in love with, but then despite all the hints that that's how it will go she doesn't end up with him after all.
