"Confusion is always the most honest response."

Attributed to Marty Indik, whoever he is. I tried googling him, but all of the links appear to be quote-of-the-day pages and the like, several of them citing this very quote. I didn't see any personal or identifying information. Maybe Marty Indik is simply a disembodied name attached to quotable quotes floating tetherless around the internets. Spooky!

Or perhaps merely confusing.

Hmm. This is about TAFF, isn't it? :-)

Oh, I don't know, I believe TAFF has begun to publicly untangle today, at least to the extent that [livejournal.com profile] billzilla and [livejournal.com profile] replyhazy have announced their withdrawal from the race.

The word "confusion" came up in an interesting (to me) way today. I was watching the DVD "Nothing is Easy: Jethro Tull Live at the Isle of Wight 1970" and one of the songs they performed was a rewritten version of "Dharma for One". I'm familiar with this version from the live recording on the "Living in the Past" album, recorded in Carnegie Hall three months after the Isle of Wight concert. It turns out the earlier concert performance has a couple of extra lines:

Mankind's confusion burns,
Sees that he never learns.

Cheers,
