Corflu 34

I've purchased a membership to Corflu 34 in LA. I'm curious what kinds of pre-convention plans people have.

We are going to have limited vacation time because of Worldcon and World Fantasy. However, Alaska has a fare sale ending tonight, and there are really cheap flights if we fly there on Thursday and return on Monday. So we should try to decide now.

I am a bit bummed to be reminded that Corflu is in Woodland Hills, not LA. Maybe we could rent a car or something.

voidampersand, Thursday-Monday is my ideal Corflu trip when I'm not able to add any pre-con/post-con touristing or extended stays with local fans.

Alas, reality demands I miss Corflu, which I will rather a lot. The last time I was in the L.A. area, I found car rental to be extraordinarily cheap and hope you do, too. The Getty looks to be convenient to get to with a car.

So kind of you to offer! I'm afraid (well, not very afraid) that I chaired my last convention a decade ago. Gave it a handful of chances under varying conditions and learned that I like helping run conventions, and actively dislike leading them.

Are you flying into LAX or Burbank? Thursday to Monday sounds good. Rich Coad said he's showing up on Thursday too.
