So last night I traveled with one co-editor of Chunga to the house of the other co-editor. This other co-editor was barbecuing some modern dinosaur, and it was good. We worked on issue 13, which, believe it or don't, seems practically done now. Only 13 months after the last issue, hmm.

This evening my brother is visiting. He's sailing at a Hobie Cat regatta on Lake Washington this weekend. I foresee a few beers in my future, but then that's always true. My own weekend will be more work on the fanzine, more work on wedding words, more picking of raspberries, and at some point the picking up of my new suit, which has now been altered. Maybe I'll find time to read the new Prolapse, too, which has just arrived in its paper guise.

I do hope the "13 months before #13" doesn't become a pattern: by #61, you'd have a longer schedule than Science Fiction Five-Yearly...

Well, something needs to replace SFFY! I like the idea of a gradualist approach.

I've promised that PM and I will publish the 41st issue of Larrikin on the 10th anniversary of Larrikin 40. It will happen.

Only 13 months after the last issue, hmm

I'm similarly behind with the next Zoo Nation, with no immediate plans to pull it together. Too much real life, at the moment.

That's a heck of a real life you've been leading lately too. Still, hope you'll find time for another ZN eventually! Perhaps a wedding issue?

Yay for forthcoming new Chunga! And indeed for new Prolapse, received a few days ago. I wish there were a new Zoo Nation coming too; and I'm quite failing to do the maths beyond Larrikin #22 (February 1990).

But we have the editors of Head! arriving in a few hours (we're an overnight pit stop en route to Gatwick airport and their holiday) so I shall try to persuade them to publish again too...

They've done at least one holiday issue in the past, haven't they? I mean, an issue about a holiday in Basqueland. Anyway, if they're still around, give them my best!

Yep, my file is also missing issues 23-40 of Larrikin.

The promise about the 41st issue was made to get John Foyster off my back. He was suggesting that we should revive Larrikin, and pointed to the, then, recently published Pong 41 (10 years after the previous issue) as support for his suggestion. So I made the promise.

If they're are still at your place, say hi to the Head!ers for me.

I promised John Foyster I would write a TAFF report. Which of us will make good on his promise first? (I'm just sorry I never got to meet him. But then I haven't met you yet either!)

I haven't seen Prolapse and my brain didn't immediately think, ah yes, fanzine. So I look in Amazon and the top two which I find are Vaginal Surgery for Incontinence and Prolapse and Natural Therapies for Mitral Valve Prolapse. Hm, sounds vastly exciting, uh, wait, maybe not. I scan down and find Mitral Valve: Floppy Mitral Valve, Mitral Valve Prolapse, Mitral Valvular Regurgitation. Ooh, now we're getting to the exciting stuff, eh? Hmmm. Or maybe, Rectal Prolapse - A Medical Dictionary, Bibliography, and Annotated Research Guide to Internet References. Maybe I will check efanzines.com. Ah, a fanzine. That sounds better. I guess this has more to do with "To fall or slip out of place." than "The falling down or slipping out of place of an organ or part, such as the uterus." (courtesy of yourdictionary.com).

Have fun with those beers but try to not let anything fall too far out of place.

Whoops. Forget to log in. Gary (who occasionally likes his anonymity but not today.)

I keep meaning to ask Peter if he knew about the medical meaning of prolapse when he named the zine. I mean, really!

I find it disturbing, still, for just that reason.
